CHRONICLE LUIS URIBE CÓRDOBA

Luis Uribe Cordoba is 39 years old, is a well-known Colombian in the animated film universe. He currently lives in California and works for Pixar Animation Studios and has participated in films such as 'Finding Dory', 'Incredibles 2', 'Onward', 'Coco', 'Toy Story 4', 'Soul', 'Luca' and 'Lightyear'. Although Luis was born in Miami he grew up and trained in Bogota, he studied industrial design, learned animation in an online school and on his own took courses and tutorials he found on the internet, then he specialized in character animation. He worked for a few years in advertising but his career as an animator began in Colombia working on commercials and animated productions. He applied to several animation studios in the United States and Europe since his dream was to work in film. In 2010 he was accepted into an animation apprentice program at a studio in Los Angeles, California and it was there where he started his career in animation in the United States. In 2015 he finally made it to Pixar Animation Studios. One of the most significant experiences for Luis has been working on Toy Story " It was incredible to be able to work with Woody. I remember being in Colombia when the first movie came out in 1995. Being able to come to Pixar and work on Toy Story has been a dream. And even more to be able to have Woody on your computer. It has been incredible" he said in an interview for the newspaper "El Colombiano". Luis animated Woody in a scene that takes place in a huge antique store, the most complex set in Pixar's history with more than 10,000 objects inside. Luis confesses that the most complicated part of his job is to maintain consistency, to make those scenes that form a sequence of several minutes seem to be animated by one person even though there are many artists involved. Luis Uribe is currently working on the Pixar film ELEMENTAL, a story where fire, water, earth and air inhabitants coexist, the film is planned for release in July 2023
